We Wish You a Merry Christmas is a traditional English Christmas carol. It comes from a tradition of carolers singing at homes on Christmas Eve for treats that the home owners would give them. That is why several of the verses refer to being given figgy pudding before the carolers will leave to sing at another home. This arrangement is for double bass and piano.
