This is the 3rd movement of Todd Markey’s Baroque Suite. A Sarabande is a slow dance movement in 3/4 time that originated in Central America, then became popular in Europe, especially Spain, then later in Italy and France. It became the standard slow movement in stylized dance suites by Bach and other major composers of the Baroque period. This suite is scored for string quintet: two violins, viola, cello, and double bass. Get some friends together and make a recording of yourselves!
