The origin of Happy Birthday (or Happy Birthday to You) is somewhat in dispute, but it seems that sisters Patty and Mildred J. Hill composed the melody before 1893 as a song to sing to school children under the name Good Morning to All. Later, the words that we now use replaced the original lyrics. It was written so that it would be easy for young children to memorize and sing together. This version of Happy Birthday is arranged for double bass and piano.
