Enjoy learning how to play this lovely and sentimental Irish ballad Danny Boy, written by Frederic Weatherly in 1910, and set to the tune of the traditional Irish melody Londonderry Air. The tune is characteristically reminiscent of Irish descent and heritage.
It is famous for its rubato nature, meaning that much time can be taken within and between phrases, as if being verbally recited as poetry rather than following a strict musical meter.
