Baroque Era songs for bass
Some of the most beloved music comes from the Baroque era. Bach, Vivaldi, and Handel are some of the well known names from this style period, which went from about 1600 to 1750. The solo music for bass that people generally play from the Baroque Era are transcriptions from other instruments, since the bass wasn't considered a solo instrument at that time. Some of the important pieces bassists play are The Six Suites for Unaccompanied Cello by Bach and Vivaldi's Six Sonatas for Cello. The bass is an important instrument for Baroque ensemble music, since the bass normally plays the basso continuo part, which is a Baroque Era development. Also, many violin pieces have been transcribed for bass, so bassists can play some of the other great melodies from this time period.
